On July 25, 1960, we finally saw "land" again, in the form of a bird-splattered rock named "ROCKALL" jutting out of the water:

George Erlanger (in 1964, we worked together on "Diamonds from the Sea" off S.W.A.)

British Marines landed there and claimed Rockall, and Greenpeace activists lived there and tried to establish "Waveland" There even is a "tongue in cheek" Rockall newspaper, where I found a funny story about Canada invading St. Pierre and Miquelon (published a few days after my write up on these islands)
