of "Origin of Ocean Basins" fame, who in turn was the advisor of
John Crawford Maxwell ("The geology of Tobago, BWI")

Richard gave the above scanned write-up to me in 1960 [one year before his death.]
We got along fine, except that he called me "The Great Dane" -
I was still Dutch at that time,
but he probably reserved the honorific:
"The Great Dutchman" for giant (almost 2 meter long...)
