Monday, Feb.11:
  • worked on waves at Marine Advisors almost the entire day

    Tuesday, Feb.12:
  • Ralph had received letter about me from Shepard
  • Doak had received call from Fager to find out if Hawaii could be reasonable.
    Rick Grigg:
  • could leave later than proposed,
  • had not received requested $ 100 from UH yet,
  • is working on article for National Geographic

  • Wednesday, Feb.13:
  • Met Rogers at Aquarium about compressor: scary
    Moss of USCGS at Federal Building tells me that the "Pathfinder" under Captain Seaborg will be surveying S. Maui till June
    at USGS, I hear new Maui Map out soon: contact Mr. Davis (Rose's husband)

    Thursday, Feb.14:
    Doak:
  • Geo chair, Dr. Abbott, had been asked by SIO to put him on my committee
    will consider this next week with Ralp and Ted;
  • asks me to write up general Maui geology background
  • look for boat, since their Al skiff had to go to NEPTUNE

    Friday, Feb. 15:
    ( 3 weeks here in Hawaii feels like 3 months...)
  • prep.acetate maps and write ref.cards on H.I. climate
  • eat excellent mahi-mahi meal for 69 cents!

    Saturday, Feb.16:
  • "training" at Hanauma Bay;
  • French play about Captain Cook + Apollon de Bellac with Nicole,
    met Mlles Cleisz, Elizabeth Ruegg and Mme Pelee at party afterwards

    Sunday, Feb.17:
  • trip to Hanauma Bay with Elizabeth Ruegg, Swiss girl who also speaks Dutch!
