1960-1963

second semester at
Scripps, 1961
Of my second semester party life I distinctly remember two contrasting events: First, a party to welcome foreign students at the home of a La Jolla banker's family. He was taciturn and pleasant, his wife rather pushy and gushing. One daughter took after her mother and in addition, was a bit snobbish. The other - the younger - was simply delightful , as were the drinks and the snacks.

Scenario

Ben Oostdam was the first to arrive.

Hostess: "So nice you could come! Who are you and where are you from?"
Ben: "Thank you for inviting me. I am Ben Oostdam, from Amsterdam, Holland."
Hostess:"Oh, Amsterdam! That's our favorite city in Europe!"

Next guest arrives, Herb Veeh

Hostess: "So nice you could come! Who are you and where are you from?"
Herb: "Thank you, I am Herb Veeh and I was born in Heidelberg, Germany."
Hostess:"Oh, Heidelberg! That's our favorite city in Europe!"

Next guests arrive, Bruno d'Anglejan and his wife:

Hostess: "So nice you could come! Who are you and where are you from?"
Bruno: "Very charming, I am Bruno d'Anglejan and this is my wife Dido; we are from Paris, France"
Hostess:"Oh, Paris! That's our favorite city in Europe!"

We survived and thrived, and at the end I said to her:
"Thank you once again for inviting us. You do not know how wonderful it is of you to give us the opportunity and for us to enjoy to have intercourse with the natives; it was a wonderful evening!"
At this point, Dido pushed me out and said she had just wet her panties....so we went on to their house to change and have more drinks and replays.
