Sunday, September 27, 1964: We got up early and drove to Mercia's parents around 11:00 to collect "braaivleis". We went on to Cape Hangklip, the southeastern cape of False Bay, but is was rainy and Mercia was not in the mood.

After a walk we happened on a good spot and set up our tripod-affair for hanging the screen and meat over a fire.
Fortunately, it came out fine.
Which reminds me to mention the unique Fynbos fauna and flora characterizing the Western Cape, as well as the recent lobster migration towards Hangklip..(right)
Monday, September 26 through Friday, October 2, 1964 : Meetings with Dave, Jack, Harold and Eric about 'Rockeater' operations and with Dave and Robin re evaluation. Eric won our evening Monopoly game. Dave and his wife drove to Windhoek, leaving me in charge; my agenda: Collin's data, Beach- and Terrace data, DeBeer's Northern-Veedol report, Rockeater Drilling Hole configuration tests to determine "mining factor". Telephone Holland re interviews of Dutch applicants. Bought two tape recorders at auction for 29 pounds each. Chinese dinner. Met Rosemary Bradley and told her about my marriage.
