Tuesday, September 1, 1964:
Slept late, then went out to buy liquor and look for a maid. Around noon, I went to the Bank and to Population Registry,
where I tried to pass off the wedding invitation as official document. The cute redhead in charge accepted
it as long as I gave her a signed copy and some photographs. I dropped by the office where things were busy,
did some filing and answered the curious new secretary's enquiries; she seemed to go for aqua velva ..,
so I quickly escaped to my bride, a beautiful sunset and some drinks. After that, we went to a Greek restaurant
and turned in early. (after all, it was still honeymoon time . .)
Sep. 2, 1964: This morning, Mr Daniels visited the office, while after lunch I worked on the Rockeater program.
Dinner at "home."
Sep.3, 1964: Went to the office a bit earlier and tried to speed up Rockeater program(me).
That evening, Mercia cooked a good meal and we had a visit from Kosie and Marie and Rachel.
I showed slides and we quarreled a bit about Rose: am getting accustomed to being married.
Friday, Sep.4, 1964: A rather busy day and evening in the office with various evaluations.
Mercia appears a bit depressed.
Sep.5, 1964: Worked in the office putting together and folding a prospectus, and even using an iron.
Some altercations with Gil Devlin and Robin, but left as early as 3 p.m. . .
Mercia and I took a walk, smooched and then went to the church wedding of one of Mercia's friends, little Magda Maree,
where we met a funny Bunny before we left to dine at Perla.
Next, we went to the "bioskoop" to see: "Night of the Iguana" and greeted
Mr. DuPreez and his wife and daughter.
Sunday, Sep.6, 1964: Up late and I made breakfast, too. We then strolled along some beautiful beach houses
and "hung around" in Sandy Cove which looked fine for diving. After a while, we tired and returned home for drinks and more.
Later, we dined at Caroussel and quarreled about Coloureds and use of the word "hallo" in a telephone call from Dave Smith.
