January 16, Thursday: Visit Dr. Fuller, geology professor at the University of Capetown. He showed me around, got to meet the chair, Dr. Eric Simpson. We talk about sedimentology, statistics and arrange demo of their seismic sledge hammer for that afternoon.

January 17: In the morning, I work on profiles and diving arrangements.
Lunch with Pete and the Bascoms in the Portuguese Restaurant in Capetown Harbour.

In the afternoon, I write a brief set of instructions for use of the seismic sledge-hammer and discuss it with Willard.
