| I arrived in Graaff Reinet (406k results on Google) on my third visit about 2 p.m. and checked into the famous Drostdy Hotel. After unloading and a nappy, I took a swim in the pool where I met some other guests and enjoyed the spectacle of the annual meeting of GR housewives with some serious seminars followed by a splash party - sorry no picts taken by me (dirty old man) but hundreds by a pretty young lady photographer using the subjects' own cameras. I skipped dinner, went for a walk to take photos and chatted with some tourist girls, then went to an excellent performance by Chris Chameleon at the invitation of my neighbor, Louwtje Moiree with whom I had a long talk about his predicament whether to stay or emigrate now that he had sold his farm. We promised to keep in touch and he introduced me to several of his old class mates. |
