I remembered this road from my 2004 trip - it ran parallel to a railroad track and N3 .
Just before Rosettta I checked in at the Rosetta Hotel around 14:00.
I took a long nappy, then drove to "town" and walked around.
Later I also visited the chocolat empire and chatted with the owners, shown above.. That evening I had a fine snail and oyster dinner with rum and coke and a Windhoek beer. I was told that the oysters had been flown in to-day from Knysna!) , and then delivered here by special messenger. I went to bed early enjoying the soulful sound of a heavy rainstorm! The next morning, I had to wait outside for the place to open at 09:00, but I had some chatty company. |
