| I did not sleep too well, what with the girls giggling nextdoors, and an ominous carillon followed by a boisterous bird too early in the morning. So I got up and joined the blue-uniformed team downstairs with a loud: "Dobro jutro!" before sitting down for the common meal of sausage ("wiersta"), fresh bread, mayonaise and water. Next came the goodbyes and good luck in the all-day competition. Nicola invited me to go along with him and grandson for the afternoon. In the meantime, I took a walk and several photographs (below): |

| When Nicola came over with his grandson shortly after noon, he first showed me several alba full of photographs of various construction and business ventures, including a large building downtown which he planned to turn into a hotel if he could find someone to invest $ 200K, as well as an aquaculture venture on the Danube worth about $100K. He also told me he had spent 2 years in Yemen, 2 in Lincolnshire and 4 in Russia. He was also proud of several photographs of a large locomotive, the 40 year old "Kennedy". He also arranged to reserve a room for me in the Astoria Hotel in Beograd. Next, he took me and grandson Nicola (4) in his old Yugo to nearby Lake Pali. |
