Wednesday, June 2, cont.: After the impressive Moher Cliffs, I continued northward along the coast to arrive at the spectacular Burren (right), a pale moonlike landscape of karst topography: An interesting quote from one of Cromwell's men : "here, there's not enough water to drown a man, nor any tree to hang him." |

At 16:00 I came to The Admiral's Rest where I stopped for the night. I was pleasantly surprised to find two Thai here, who served an excellent shrimp dinner. Sadly, the manager, John McNamara, had died a few weeks ago. He was a naturalist and would have been a good man to meet and talk with, e.g. about this photograph I found there and copied of "London Bridge" |
