Wednesday, June 2: Found out that fees for room at Cork University are Euro 95 per week for single, Euro 65 for double. After a big breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, tomatoes and black pudding, I first made a quick trip to the old local castle, which was under repair. Interesting location, looking out over Shannon Estuary. Arrived at the Tarbert Ferry shortly after 10:00 and saw the ebb- and flood-channels in the mudflats.

By 10:55, the crew had packed aboard quite a few buses, trucks, vans and cars leaving mimimum space for the many passengers to shuffle to the narrow upper side deck from where everyone looked for the famous bottlenose dolphins. |

I drove through or past Killimer and Kilrush and stopped in Kilkee (left and below) at an
oysterbar, but it was too full and early to "indulge"; similarly, I forewent the thalassotherapy,
and ended up just taking these photographs of the
fine circular beach:![]() ![]() next page (14) - comments, please? |
