1965 SOUTH AFRICA TOUR : Ben Oostdam, October 5 , page 15

When I stopped at a group of cars next to a skeleton and got out to have a look, I was given a serious warning not to do so. I tanked up ('petrol') at Satara where baboons settled on my car and I was told that curfew started at 18:30. So I drove on seeing lots of zebras ('streepdonkies') and giraffes, crossed the border, took the Louis Trichardt path (?) and ended up in Tshokwane Camp(?) at 18:25 (15237). It was so crowded that I had to move in with a rich mielies boer in a fine 4-bunk rondavel. We pleasantly dined together and attended a movie on the social behavior of baboons.
