We did not spend too much time in Liechtenstein, watching the castle from a distance, and feeling sorry for not having any money to buy the many alluring tax-free items, especially cameras and watches, in the local shops. I did buy a few stamps.
We crossed the River Rhine (sounds belligerent, recall WWII !) and drove through the mountains and past picturesque mountain lakes dotted with sailboats on to Zurich, where we arrived at 16:30, looked over the scenery and campsites and decided to cross one more border on into quiet France where we pitched our tent just before dark in a cornfield.
