Some 7 kms before (inland from) Phanrang, I came across this thirteenth century Cham temple known as the Po Klong Garai Towers (my photograph taken in Nov. 1956 is in the center, flanked by two others I downloaded from the WWW in Mar.2002; it appears as if some renovations have been made...).This region is semi-arid and known for its table grapes.

Along the road from Dalat to Nhatrang, crossing over a river near the coastal town of Phanrang which, based on a lone pillar inscribed in Arabic dated from the 10th century is one of the first Muslim eastern trading posts.
